Weekly Write
Students should count on having a Weekly Write due every Friday.
What is a Weekly Write?
Pretty much what it sounds like: Students will be doing writing every week!
I am asking for a minimum of 250 words. Handwritten on lined paper, that's about a page. Typed writing is welcome.
What are you supposed to write about?
That's up to you!
If you need help getting going, here's some ideas:
Most of all: Don't worry. This is practice, building up that stamina we talked about in class, remember? Just like athletes train their bodies, we are training to build up our writing muscle and speed. Think of me as your coach — someone who can help you see your strengths and give you feedback on areas where you can grow.

If you need help getting going, here's some ideas:
- Write about your life. What's going on. Sports or activities you do. Your experiences at school. Your family and friends. Your dreams about the future.
- Write made-up stories. Create your own characters and settings. Try your hand at fantasy, or realistic fiction. Write a short story that stands alone, or write a series of stories that end each week "to be continued."
- Write a review of a movie or a book. Note that I'm not so interested in you summarizing the story as I am in knowing what you think about it. What did you like, and why? What didn't you like, and why not?
